Colour Mixing By Jason.
Hello and a very warm welcome to my site.
The object of the site is to show you how to mix your own paint colour for your house, business or any other area where you want the colour of your paint to fit in with the colour scheme of all your other items.
Please note i am English so i will refer to colour and not color.
I worked in the wallpaper industry for 15 years making colours for all different kinds of wallpaper, whilst doing this i realised that these very same principles could and do apply to any paint/painting method.
So let me explain what we need and what we are going to be looking at!
O.K. you want to paint an area to a specific colour you have been to the local d.i.y. stores but still you cannot seem to find that colour, you know that colour the one you have your heart set on.
What we need to do buy a base colour, white is what you need, however we may use a base similar to the colour you are after if the colour is quite deep (dark) and we will tint from that! now make sure you buy enough to complete the job in hand because as we are mixing this ourselves we want enough.
Is it silk,matt,gloss?
this is important.
Right we have the white, now we need 5 sample pots/small tins
or maybe larger tins of different colours, depending on how dark you want the colour to be!
What colours i hear you ask.
You will need : dark Blue, dark yellow,
dark scarlet (red),dark magenta (red) and a black, you are better buying these colours in silk, matt,or gloss in respect of the white base paint.NOTE Yellow is used alot.
Once you have got these they will come in for any other paint mixing in future so the initial purchase is one which will ultimately save you money.
We will now go on to our next page where we make sure we have everything and go through some important aspects.
Thank you Jason.
